Now that The Neighborhood Bridge has been incorporated as a 501(c)(3), the real work has begun.

The first step is to hire an Executive Director who will work in the Austin community to connect families to the services they need. Our hope is that, with the community’s support, we will have the position filled in the next few months.

Another priority is to get the financial backing to support the operating costs and equipment needed for the St. Catherine-St. Lucy (SCSL) rectory to serve as a human services center. Immediate plans include securing a master lease agreement with the Archdiocese and upgrading the lower level to accommodate:

  • The Neighborhood Bridge office

  • Current social ministries serving Austin residents

  • Adult education programming

We have received generous support from a number of community members, including a gift of $100,000 from a local family foundation that enables us to plan and renovate the lower level of the rectory. Additional funds are needed to staff and equip the center.
