Kimberly Walton

Kimberly Walton (Board of Directors Member) grew up in the Austin community. A graduate of The University of Illinois-Chicago, Kimberly earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, with a concentration in Family Therapy. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), who also has a Professional Educator License (PEL) School Social Worker Endorsement.

Kimberly started her career as a Case Manager at Mercy’s Home for Boys and Girls. Her career path includes her passion for advocating for vulnerable children and adults. She has experience with individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and kids in foster care.

Kimberly’s focus on helping others realize their full potential led her to The Catalyst Schools- Circle Rock Campus, where she is the founding Social Worker. She has been a constant support and advocate for students and their family for 17 years.

Kimberly has created various clubs and programs, such as Game Masters, Peer Leadership Program, and Expressive Art Therapy Curriculum to help students learn interpersonal skills, including how to regulate their emotions and how to identify their areas of strength and leadership qualities.

Kimberly is passionate about helping students develop strategies and coping skills to help them improve their reaction to disappointments and their overall emotional well-being.
